FFI’s innovative, effective work with Missouri’s juvenile justice system was the subject of a national webinar, sponsored by the federal Department of Justice’s Defending Childhood initiative, in partnership with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Futures Without Violence. An audio/visual recording of Applying an Adolescent Wellbeing Focus in Juvenile Justice Assessment and Treatment Planning is now available. Presenters Katya Smyth, FFI’s CEO, and Phyllis Becker, Interim Director of the Missouri Division of Youth Services (DYS), shared information about the application of the Five Domains of Wellbeing to youth, the way in which the Five Domains of Wellbeing is being used in Missouri, and the successful partnership between FFI and DYS that made this possible. A total of 331 people registered for the webinar, about 1/3 of whom were from the juvenile justice field and the remaining hailed from a wide variety of fields, including law enforcement, medical and education.
